I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
yeah, I been thinkin’ about my doorbell

Oh, well

Well with me and chipin’ me and kisses?
Not the man in my life I know
And I been going to mystery misses
I respect the art of the show
Take back whan you said little girl
And while you’re at it take yourself back too
Woman whatcha gonna do now, whatcha gonna do about it

I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it oh
I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I been thinkin’ about my doorbell

Oh, yeah

You don’t seem to come around
Point your finger and make a sound
You don’t seem to come around
Not since I said you knocked it down?

Oh, well

Make a sound and I’ll make you feel right
Right at home, yeah
Yeah, right at home, yeah

Nobody got ……?
But how come it’s so easy to you
You know it’s like me at times I can be careless
But your words seem so obtuse
But then again I know you feel guilty
And you tell me you want me again
But I don’t need any of your pity
I got plenty of my own friends
They’re all above me

And I’ve been thinkin’ about my doorbell
When they gonna ring it, when they gonna ring it
Yeah, I’ve been thinkin’ about the doorbell
When they gonna ring it, when they gonna ring it oh
I’ve been thinkin’ about the doorbell
When they gonna ring it, when they gonna ring it
Yeah, I been thinkin’ about the doorbell

Oh, well

They don’t seem to come around
Push the finger and make a sound
They don’t seem to come around
Maybe they they’ll knock ‘em down

Oh, well

Make a sound and I’ll make you feel right
Right at home
Right at home

I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I been thinkin’ about my doorbell
And when you’re gonna ring it, when you’re gonna ring it

I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell

Oh, oh well

another one…(or two)

You May Be a Bit Histrionic …

Dramatic and over the top, you crave attention.

And you’ll do anything it takes to get noticed.

You love to be seductive, even when it’s inappropriate.

If you’re ignored, you’re easily hurt … and act out even more!

A lemming

Elaine did it…so of course here I am…

Your Birthdate: September 27
Your birth on the 27th day of the month (9 energy) adds a tone of selflessness and humanitarianism to your life path.

Certainly, you are one who can work very well with people, but at the same time you need a good bit of time to be by yourself to rest and meditate.

There is a very humanistic and philanthropic approach in most of things that you do.

This birthday helps you be broadminded, tolerant, generous and very cooperative.

You are the type of person who uses persuasion rather than force to achieve your ends.

You tend to be very sensitive to others’ needs and feelings, and you able to give much in the way of friendship without expecting a lot in return.

Almost September

It is 3 weeks until Steve’s birthday. I don’t know what to buy him. He is hard to shop for…mainly because he is prone to just buy what he wants. My granddaddy used to do that. It would drive my Grandmother crazy. Now I feel her pain. I am easy to shop for. I love all things shiny.
September is a busy birthday month for me.
Elaine (3rd), Sarah (3rd), Alicia(4th), Steve(16th) and Susanna(18th). Most importantly (NPD anyone) my birthday is in September. This year I will be 29. That is fine. Elaine, Caroline, Alison, Steph, etc… have all done thirty and done it beautifully so really I am not worried. Steve will be 27 (bastard). I was disapointed with 27. I had long ago decided it would be my best year. Not so much. Oh well…that means the best is yet to come. I at least have something to look forward to!
Other exciting events that are upcoming are a wilde theatre outing, various and asundry birthday extravaganzas and a belated birthday weekend shopping vacation to Nashville with the wilde chicks in Oct.
Life is good.

blonde mustache

Posted on August 22nd, 2005 in Helpful Hints, Shit that gets on my nerves! by Aardvark

Women that have dark facial hair (creating a mustache) should wax or use a depilatory cream.
Bleaching the mustache leads to new problem… a blonde mustache.
We can still see it.
Just get rid of it…that’s all I’m sayin’

Posted on August 22nd, 2005 in Outings, Steve, Whatever by Aardvark

A week ago today I woke up sick. The first day or so I chalked it up to allergies and went about my business (feeling puny). By Wednesday i was full blown miserable and out of desperation turned to the doctor for help…they prescribed a Z pack. Well I have finished the Z pack and I am still not well. I am feeling better but I would expect that after a week…without medication. Now Steve is sick. He started feeling bad Saturday evening.
On another note…
Friday night we manged to see “The 40 year old Virgin”
Now normally this is not the kind of movie I would care anything about seeing…but I was still feeling puny and Steve REALLY wanted to see it…so whatever.
It was funny. Really funny. I expected it to be mostly toilet humor and slapstick type gags (and those were there) but it was actually just funny. It is rated R for good reason but still funny. Even Mr. Cranky didn’t hate it.

Last night was the final episode ever of “Six Feet Under.” I am sad about that…. I watched that show from the first episode. If you never watched it….you missed something. It was a truly great show. I am not sure that I liked the very very end but I did like the way the stories ended. I missed the special “behind the scenes” show that was played before the last episode…but not to worry. I have the dvr set to record it when it replays on Tuesday.

Dr. Z (pack)

Posted on August 17th, 2005 in Need to know, Whatever by Aardvark

I am sick…sick sick sick. After 3 days I finally gave up and asked the doctor to help me.
I have a sinus infection, cough and my ears are inflamed and clogged. I feel crappy. I have been prescribed a Z pack and told to take Robitussin before bed. I ate jalapenos for dinner in an attempt to breath….it worked for a bit. Now I am lying around worthlessly on the couch with the laptop and window shopping online. Those of you with any connections…I would like to feel better. Soon. Thank you.

…a little spirituality

Posted on August 16th, 2005 in My Peeps, Soapbox by Aardvark

Have you ever met someone who is truly wonderful? There are lots of things that make a person wonderful. It can be that they are loyal, kind, giving, selfless, etc… I think the most amazing quality that truly wonderful people have is modesty. The truly wonderful people I know don’t have to tell you that they are wonderful…you just know. They don’t go around singing their own praises…they don’t have to. Truly wonderful people’s praises are sung by everyone they meet. I feel bad for people who feel they have to go around trying to convince everyone how wonderful they are because they are obviously missing something from their life. I am not a particularly religious person (spirituality is different than religion and I do consider myself spiritual)…but I do know that God doesn’t approve of people putting others down to lift you up. Maybe that is what these people are missing…a little spirituality.

less than classy

Posted on August 14th, 2005 in My Peeps, Need to know, Outings, Steve, The Girls by Aardvark

The weekend was pretty tame.
Friday afternoon Alicia shows up for hair therapy. We went to CVS and arrived back at the Aardvark Salon to color her hair. That being done we needed fuel…so with Steve along we headed to Logan’s. Steve and Alicia both seemed genuinely surprised at the amount of mullet sporting rednecks dining around us. My response - “We are eating at a “restaurant” where it is ok to throw food on the floor…and you are surprised that the clientele is less than classy?”
Then it was home for Steve and me…where I was asleep by 9:30. Why am I sleeping so much? ;)
Saturday morning I went to Fantasy for Jungle Book rehearsal. Thanks to Lisa who agreed to be there by 9…so I could sleep later (she truly is a goddess). Saturday afternoon I slept for 3 hours. A visit from Amy and Oscar was a rare treat for us and the girls (who love to play). Saturday night Steve and I stayed in and watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Not as scary as the original but scary. Back to bed at 10. Lame.
Sunday morning Steve got up and made breakfast. Sweet. Then we just hung out until he had his soccer meeting at 2. While he was gone I showered and did some general maintenance grooming (exfoliating, eyebrow plucking, pubic shaving, etc…). He came home and I left to run by the store and pick up some crap and then headed to Fantasy for a board (bored?) meeting. It was more exciting than usual… so I am glad i didn’t bail. Then home again…where I will be heading to bed very soon!

WildeChicks …dinner Monday night! We need to set a time.
Emails will start flying about 8 am. (I am sure of it)
