This weekend is a Wilde Chick outing to Nashville. We will be staying at the fabulous and unique Hotel Preston. Where we will be enjoying the Ooey Gooey Ladies Night Out Package.
We will dine at The Aquariam and shop at Opry Mills. It will be heavenly. I can’t wait!
Steve has recovered the fruit snacks…from where they were lost (in his desk drawer at work).
Steve announced that he would no longer participate in the purchase of any more black clothing for me.
He just doesn’t understand!
Isn’t it weird how people get nicknames. I have a couple: aardvark, vera, ronnie (used only by Glenn), ron (used only by Julie), ra ra (used by children and adults) and Steve calls me hon (as in honey).
There is a story for most nicknames. Some are due to an event or an inside joke, others are born out of shortening your actual name (Steph, E, Ron etc…) and still more are just a variation of or play on your name.
I call Preston “pants”. It started out as “naughty pants” when he would do something naughty.
Then one day I said
“Come here naughty pants!”
and he replied
“I not nawty pants…I Presty Pants.”
So then he became Presty Pants. This has started to become just “pants” lately.
Today in the library I heard a little boy explaining that his long name was Samuel…but he mostly used his short name…”Sam.”
So I got to thinking…what do people call you and why?

How do you lose a box of fruit snacks? Steve and I went grocery shopping the other day and I got a box of fruit snacks. Now I can’t find them. I have been looking for them all week. I took everything out of the kitchen cabinets, looked all through the fridge, under the seats in the car…they are gone! I don’t think we left them at the store…because Steve’s fruit snacks made it home and he has been enjoying them at work all week. I, ont he other hand, have been fruit snackless! Yesterday Teddie brought me a box of Snoopy fruit snacks. I am enjoying them but I still want to know what the hell happened to my original fruit snacks! I suspect foul play. Steve really likes these particular fruit snacks…I think he took them all to work so that he could have a fruit snack feast! He “claims” that he hasn’t seen my fruit snacks…but that is what they always say. These are no ordinary fruit snacks. In fact I was reluctant to even try them because they looked too “healthy”. Well… I gave in and tried them. What do you know? They are perfect. A little fruity piece of heaven on earth. Alas, I have been without the pleasure of their company all week because they were STOLEN! I mean lost.

Those of you that are pretty observant may have noticed a slight change in the “A” is for Aardvark logo (look closely at the aardvark) at the top of the site. More changes to come over the next few monthes!
It is fall break and I have been up since 7am. This makes me unhappy. They are cutting the water off at 9am so I will have to take a shower soon. On a much more exciting note I am meeting Steph at 11:30 to do some baby registering. Steve has charged me with the task of picking out all of the baby stuff this week and getting on a list.
So far I have picked out the nursery furniture and finally decided on a theme for the nursery. Today Steph is going to help me decide what I actually need to register for instead of what they tell you that you need. How many places do I need to register? I think Target and Babies R Us is enough…don’t you?
Tyra Banks has a talk show. That is one bonus to being up right now…I am watching Tyra. The verdict is out on if it is good. Today they are doing make-unders on pagent girls and a sex make-over for a couple with mismatched libidos. How do you become a sex expert? Do you take classes? Where do you get a degree in sex? Maybe I need to go back to school. The sex expert on the show today actually gets paid to watch videos of clients having sex and then telling them what they are doing right and wrong. I could do that. He probably makes way more than I do teaching elementary school. (He isn’t even a Dr.) Apparently tis guy is the host from HBO’s “Sex Inspectors”…I have not seen it but I will be looking for it now.
