Steph is going to teach an ASL class this summer. It will be an 8 week class that meets once a week. I am going to take it. Anyone else interested? The cost is free except for the purchase of a book ($11 at amazon).

I have something to blog about.
This weekend was tons-o-fun! Saturday evening we headed to Mom’s for hamburgers and hot dogs and family fun. My Uncle John and Daniel were in town for the long weekend, Grandmother was there, Jessica and her friend Amanda joined us too. It was great. Steve rode his bike over….which always make Preston happy. We dined and visited and Scout was the belle of the ball.
Steve and Daddy conspired to provide me with a special treat. Something I have been wanting for a while…a PEEPHOLE! I now have a peephole in my front door!
Sunday we headed back over to Mom’s for more cooking out! We had the same crew as the day before plus my Uncle Floyd and Aunt Sue had joined us. The ribs were kicken’ (props to Uncle John). Scout was again the most popular person at the party. We got lots of great pics that I will hopefully get around to posting later.
Gotta love a 3 day weekend…. Monday we got up and took care of some business around the house. Scout napped nicely in her swing for a bit. We managed to get ourselves put together and headed out to the Hyatt House for a WILDE BBQ at 2. Jeff was the grill master and Delle is the reigning queen of beans (must have the recipe!). Eventually people were called away by naps and child swapping…but some of us hung in and headed to Ditto for the kick off of Concerts in the Park. It was a great crowd and a lot of fun. BB was in rare form and was the life of the party…dancing and jumping to the music. Scout was as happy as pie sitting in Elyse’s lap. Steph and I chatted and laughed. A couple of people got shit on by a bird…and even that couldn’t dampen our spirits. It was a great weekend. Plans are already in the works for next Monday night in the park…if you are interested.

Who else is shocked that Chris was eliminated from American Idol last night? WTF? Katherine forgot lyrics the night before and she gets to stay? I think even Katherine was shocked. I know Chris was…he said as much. I fear it was a case of the fans being over confident that he would win and they slacked off on voting. Now I am firmly in the Taylor camp. I know he is goofy…but I can’t help but adore him.

in the park…seriously?
Yesterday Scout and I had lunch with Steve at Big Spring Park. After eating we strolled around talking and people watching. I am often amazed at what some people consider appropriate public behavior. You can imagine my amazement (and disgust) when we strolled past a couple sitting on a bench by the museum and the girl was popping zits on the guy’s back. Oh yes. Right there in the park. During peak lunch hours. I don’t know what she was doing with them…she didn’t have a tissue or anything. I didn’t see a sink…so I doubt she washed her hands after she finished.
Maybe she had some Purell in her pocket.
