    A call for HELP!!

    By Aardvark | January 11, 2008

Some of you may have noticed my site was down for a couple of days. The company that Steve has our servers with was having issues…I won’t go into all the technical crap (because I can’t) BUT we lost everything. They are suppose to keep everything backed up so that if the server goes down ..we don’t lose the archives and such. Well they suck. Luckily Steve was able to recover all of the content here but the tragedy is not over. We lost babyaardvark. I know I wasn’t updating it anymore but it had my entire pregnancy journey and Scout’s first year. We have managed to get back the pregnancy portion…but nothing after that. Steve feels awful about it and I have cried over it (several times). There is no way for me to recreate that. Steve has come up with one more idea to see if we can recover the rest of it. Did any of you have babyaardvark.net subscribed on your bloglines? If so…PLEASE let me know. Thanks!

Hey - I tried the way back machine (google it) and found a little bit but I’m not sure if it what you’ve already found or not. There are some archives from Dec 2005, Feb 2006 and July 2006. Don’t know if that helps at all or not - you probably already tried it.

I’m so sorry!! That really sucks. I’m a new reader so I missed all of babyaardvark, but I know that is a huge loss for you.

Oh how horrible! I know a loss like that is just devastating. I hop you’re able to recover the missing portions. Good luck!

So now I have to ask the question, “How DO you back up a blog?” I use mine sort of like a digital babybook and I would hate to lose it. Can you direct me to a good linkor something that explains what I should do?
Oh, and I’m not the most computer literate person in the world either. I can figure something out if i tinker long enough and my hubs is pretty good.

      Any advice?
