    a guilty pleasure

    By Aardvark | March 3, 2009

Steve does baths at our house. Our typical routine for the girls is dinner, bath, jammies, snuggle, cuddle, story, bed. Usually after we all finish dinner I clean up the kitchen while Steve herds the girls to the bath. We will usually finish up at about the same time and the rest of the routine is one big family event. BUT sometimes I am done in the kitchen before he is finished with baths. This is one of my favorite things. I love to loiter in the hall outside the bathroom while he baths the girls. I love to watch them playing and laughing and making bubble hats. I love to eavesdrop on their conversations about sharks, the letter A, goldfish and Bagel. It makes me happy.

I do this too! On the rare occasion that Bryan bathes the child, there are a hundred other things I SHOULD be doing, but I’ll always stop outside the bathroom and listen to the happy noises.

I love listening to my husband do bath and story time with our oldest. Makes me love them both even more.

Very sweet. I love watching my son and my husband when they don’t know I am watching. Although, before you said it, I was thinking … ” i bet she finishes those dishes super fast, sits down, puts her feet up and reads US Weekly for 5 minutes” … LOL!

This was a very sweet post and I, too, am guilty of the same exact thing myself.

That is one of my guilty pleasures as well. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does there is just somehting about even just hearing my husband over the monitor with my little girl that sends my heart all aflutter!!!!
