a kid in the car
By Aardvark | January 19, 2009
Scout has pink eye. I called the doctor’s office and they said they typically don’t bring pink eye into the office because it is so contagious…so they called her in a prescription. Rather than get both girls out in the cold and haul them in and out of the store to pick up the meds…my mom came over to hang out with them while I went to pick up the goods. I went to Publix and grabbed the eye drops and some milk (we always need milk) and then headed to Schlotzky’s to pick up some lunch for all of us.
I pull up to the drive thru speaker and I order a sandwich for me, a pizza for Mom and a kids pizza for Scout. The guy asks me to pull around to the window… pretty standard. I get to the window and he is looking out and around all weird and then we have the following conversation.
Drive thru guy – ummm do you have a kid in the car?
Me - What?
DTG -A kid? in the car?
Me - (a WTF look)
DTG - ummm if you have a kid in the car you can order the kid’s pizza and it is only 99 cents for the pizza ummm well plus the drink and stuff…but if you don’t have a kid in the car …umm you have to pay the regular price for a pizza.
Me - (another WTF look) What? Really?
DTG - Ummmm
Me - Look dude…I am driving a minivan with two car seats in the back…do you really think I am trying to scam a kid’s meal off of you?
DTG - Well uhhh so um.
Me - Really?
DTG - ummmm ok.
WTF. Needless to say, I got the freaking kid’s meal but what a bunch of tools the owner’s must be.

Isn’t that what a drive through id for? Pick up food…take home to kids…not drag them into the resturant kick and screaming.

WTF? Does it matter who eats it? It costs them the same in materials regardless. And it is take out – did they think you were ordering all of that for you?

That is ridiculous! What if you would have showed them a picture of your kid? OR if you pay full price but then come back with a picture of your kid eating it can you get some money back?
