    Cruel and Unusual

    By Aardvark | April 14, 2008

I think there is something evil about telling a pregnant woman she can’t eat for EIGHT hours before she has a baby. Don’t they know how hungry I am!?!? And it isn’t like it the 8 hours I will be asleep…oh no that would be easy. I have to get my ratty pregnant ass up and eat something before 8 am and then I have to be hungry until who knows when. I have to be at the hospital at 2pm for a 4pm c-section but by the time I have the baby, get my tubes tied (yea!), go to recovery and then get to the room…it will be a billion hours since I last ate. Even then I won’t be able to eat until the anesthesia wears off. This is important to remember because last time I rushed it and ended up puking on myself and nearly puking on Scout.

So those of you that are allowed to eat today…eat something good for me and then post about it in the comments to that I can eat vicariously!

I had an egg mcmuffin for breakfast. But I kinda feel guilty telling you that.

Good luck, today. Can’t wait to hear the news!

I’m with you in spirit today, and in my spirit world we’re eating whatever we want.

Four Oreo cookies so far this morning, but I really want to tell you that I understand. I’ve been there, twice, tubes tied and all that, too. At least I was the first surgery of the day, which meant that I had to wake ridiculously early. I also couldn’t have anything to drink because I wretch even liquids. No fun.

Still, you get a baby afterwards. Not a bad trade. May the day go wonderfully with a plump newborn nestled in your arm by day’s end.

I remember the feeling! I couldn’t have anything after 10 pm the day before Jillian was born and she wasn’t born until 4:47 the next day!

      Good luck today!
