    Dr. Hicks, I presume

    By Aardvark | April 7, 2008

I didn’t sleep well…I woke up several times last night with Braxton Hicks, I think I have been having them for several days. I never had any contractions at all with Scout so I didn’t even realize that I was having them this time…I just thought Miss P was trying to fight her way out. Then Steve said “Are you sure you aren’t having contractions?” I guess anything is possible. So I looked around on the web to see how people describe BH and low and behold I guess that is what is going on. It isn’t painful as much as really uncomfortable and kind of takes my breath away. But it will wake me form a dead sleep on occasion!

All the fun I have to look forward to…

Hope the BH leave you alone so you can get some sleep. Nothing worse than a sleep deprived pregnant lady trying to keep up with a toddler (says someone who resembles that a lot of day).

I have no frame of reference, but any contractions can’t be enjoyable from where I’m sitting. Thus my unstretched cervix.

I guess you didn’t experience contractions last time, did you? I had totally forgotten. It is cliche, but you would totally know the difference between contractions and BH. Unfortunately you won’t know until you experience a real contraction and then you would think, huh, so that’s the difference! Good luck! Can’t wait to see pictures of Miss P!
