Help wanted!
By Aardvark | March 31, 2008
We finally got Scout’s “Big Girl” room all ready and set up yesterday. It is gorgeous. I will have to post pictures soon.
Now I need to know…HOW THE HELL DO I MAKE HER STAY IN BED???????
For whatever reason, my child who is totally wild 99% of the time, never attempted to get out of the crib….but last night she was up wandering around in the middle of the night (luckily motherhood has blessed me with the curse of extremely light sleep) and right now I am trying to get her to take a nap and I have had to take her back in there a couple of times already!!!
Tips? Tricks? Drugs? What does it take?
ETA: I am freaking Super Nanny! Today at nap time I just kept taking her back and telling her it was nap time. I didn’t get upset or fuss and the last time I didn’t even take her…I just told her to go back to bed that it was nap time. About 10 minutes later she was sound asleep. I am freaking AWESOME

Ah, this is SuperNanny’s realm. Per JoJo: you don’t rationalize with them, you don’t acknowledge them, you just lead them back to the bed and put them there. (Similar to Naughty Corner.)
Per Sarah: shackles.

I can tell you what I saw on Super Nanny. Just calmly take her back each time with no response. I know, it’s a lot to ask at this stage of your pregnancy.

For this very reason, I am hoping to keep Sabrina in her crib until she is 5.

Hey Aardvark!
well done on the Supernanny impression! Another tip – we put those doorknob covers on the inside of the boy’s bedroom door to keep him from roaming the house at all hours. Keeps him in (he usually just hollers until we come get him) and not stumbling around the stairwell all sleepy and disoriented.
Also – I tagged you with a meme. Care to play?

Love the tip by BookMamma. That is a great idea!! If you find a answer to help your little one stay in bed please share. I am so tired I just let my little girl climb into our bed.
