looking for Daddy

Scout has been looking for Steve. I can usually satisfy her with “Daddy is at work.” This morning, however, that was not an acceptable answer.
Scout : Daddy?
Me : Daddy is at work.
Scout : No
Me : (surprised) Yes. Daddy is at work.
Scout : No! Daddy? (screaming now ) DADDY!!!!!
Me : Scout, Daddy is at work he isn’t here.
Scout: DADDY!!! (roaming around the house) DADDY! DADDY!
Me : Do you want to call daddy?
Scout : yes
Me: ok
So we call Steve and she gets on the phone with him and says nothing. Typical.
I guess she will be excited to see him tomorrow. She misses him.
