more about Penelope and her inability to breath

Posted on June 4th, 2008 in Penelope, Sickness by Aardvark

We had a call in to the doctor’s office about Penelope and her breathing issues. They called back at 4:30 and said to bring her in by 5pm. Our pediatrician is out of town until the 17th but we saw one of the other doctors in the practice. He is very concerned about Penelope. She has stridor breathing and it hasn’t improved even though the reflux is better. He said that 85% of the time it is a condition called Laryngomalacia. If that is what it is then it is not generally something to worry about and usually outgrown by 18 months old or so. The worry is the other 15% of the time. He is referring us to a Ped. ENT and he wants her seen tomorrow or no later than Friday. So that is where we are now. Keep your fingers crossed.

Well damn. I was hoping she was on the road to recovery. I’m sending all good, smooth breathing vibes to little P.
