Twinkles
By Aardvark | December 2, 2008
Scout came home from school and we ate dinner and both girls had baths and got settled into jammies! I got out our “The Elf on the Shelf” book and snuggled up on the couch with Scout. We read the book and talked about the elf and all the things that the elf does (and doesn’t do). And then we wondered if maybe just Maybe Santa had sent us an elf. What would we name our elf if we had one? Twinkles. That is a good elf name. So I asked Scout if she thought maybe we should look around just in case Santa had sent an elf to check on her. It took about 5 minutes but finally Scout spotted Twinkles!
She was soooo excited! She immediately wanted to get him and hold him so I reminded her that we can’t touch him and he can’t talk to us. But I also reminded her that we could talk to him and tell him all about our day and what we wanted him to tell Santa. Today Santa needed to know that Scout made pizza at school and she needs a princess dress.
I am excited about getting up in the morning and looking for Twinkles! This is going to be such a fun tradition to share with the girls!

I LOVE that book and that tradition. We plan to do that when Tony gets old enough and Jack can play along. It’s almost as good as Domo!!

I’m thinking we will do this – maybe next year we’ll start…Sabrina is too young this year to get it I think.
