Woody (or…yet another post that will pull in the porn searchers)

Scout is in LOVE with Toy Story. She has always been a Sesame Street fan but there are not many other cartoons or kid shows that she was crazy about. She loves Annie and enjoys American Idol…but otherwise she is much to busy to watch tv. UNTIL NOW! She is obsessed with Toy Story especially Woody. She loves him. She wakes up wanting ot know where “Wooby” is and will ask about him several thousand times a day. I don;t really mind the obsession because Toy Story happens to be one of my all time favorites too…but not all day everyday!
** a side note – One of the principal screenplay writers for Toy Story was Joss Whedon who of course is the mastermind, genius, all mighty that gave us Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So she comes by her obsession honestly and she has good taste.**
Since Toy Story is almost 13 years old (released in 1995) it is not at the height of merchandising. Randomly the other day I came across a Buzz Lightyear pez dispenser and Scout loves it. She naps with it (really) and carries it around with her when she goes places. Other than that we haven’t seen anything. Being the internet whores we are…Steve and I turned to google to help us. What do you know…there is some Toy Story stuff out there after all! Steve promptly ordered Scout her very own Woody (“Wooby”) doll.
It came today!!! Steve wanted me to wait until he gets home from work to let Scout open it. So as soon as I put Scout down for her nap…I opened it.
I did this for 2 reasons.
1. I couldn’t stand it and I wanted to check him out!
2. There is WAY TO MUCH packaging involved with children’s toys. All the clips and industrial twist ties and zip ties…make it impossible to open anything in a timely fashion. Don’t they realize that my child hasn’t got time for all of this!
I called Steve to let him know how fabulous Woody is and to tell him that I put him in a new gift box with just a bow..so that he can give Scout a present when he gets home. He is just as excited as I am!
I will post later and let yo know what kind of reception “Wooby” receives. Maybe if your lucky there will be pictures!

I love watching Steve at daddy moments like that. It melts my heart.
And shut up – it can’t be 13 years old. Your doctor may have noticed you put on a couple of pounds but mine constantly reminds me of how old I am. You will lose the weight…my years will continue to advance!
